"Jeans, Boys & Jesus": A Review of Jenna Raine's Newest Album
Jenna Raine first came into the music industry with her pop single, “See You Later (Ten Years)”, which went viral on social media. Her feel-good music, a blend of pop, love song, and a dash of country, quickly gained popularity in 2025 when her album “Only Started Growing” released. Now, Jenna’s newest album “Jeans, Boys & Jesus” has her set on a headline tour.
A large portion of JB&J is about various forms of love. Songs like “Talk of the Town” and “Guilty as Charged” focus heavily on her romantic life, while "It Takes a Village" focuses more on platonic love and the people who support you. It talks about her closest friends and family being the only thing helping her through a breakup, but also how that love goes both ways and she plans to be there for them in return.
This album, more than any other before, has been filled with not only love (or heartbreak) songs but also Jenna’s personal faith. My personal favorite on JB&J is “What Would I Say?”. This song, along with “Used to Pray”, talks about the impact God has had on her life and imagines what it would be like to physically meet Jesus.
Overall, I think this album did a great job not only with lyricism but also demonstrating Jenna's capability to write both fun and very meaningful songs, without sacrificing one or the other. It's a great blend of several different topics that all share the same core theme: love shown through various ways, in different people around you.
