I have been playing tennis since I was five, and it’s been a huge part of my life. It isn’t just a sport, it’s where I learned to focus, push myself, and tackle challenges. Some days I am on the court for hours, missing shots left and right, and it gets under my skin. But then I nail a serve just how I pictured it or outlast a tough rally, and that feeling makes all the practice worth it.

Coaching kids has been one of the best parts. I work with a seven-year-old named Alex through Aceing Autism. At first, he couldn’t get the ball over the net, his swings were all over the place. After weeks of working together, he started hitting rallies, and watching his confidence grow has been awesome. Coaching has made me more patient and better at explaining things in a way that clicks for someone else. It isn’t about winning; it’s about helping Alex get better.

Tennis teaches me to focus on the little things. One day with Alex, I suggested a small change to how he held his racket just a slight adjustment. Seeing him get it after weeks of struggle felt amazing. It showed me why I love coaching and why it means so much to me.

The tennis community is special too. I’ve met players of all ages and skill levels, and every one of them has taught me something. Tennis showed me how to handle wins and losses, stay calm under pressure, and keep going when things get rough. I remember losing a match by one point and feeling so frustrated, but it taught me to stay focused and not give up.

Tennis has shaped me in big ways. It’s taught me patience, discipline, and how to lift others up. Every practice, match, and coaching moment reminds me why I love this game. Tennis pushes me to be better while letting me help kids like Alex grow, and that’s what makes it so meaningful.
