Thanksgiving Side Dishes

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and you know what comes with Thanksgiving? The amazing food! Side dishes are such an essential part of and they always make the meal but a lot of times the sides are a last-minute ask of the host. A lot of times when guests are asked to bring sides a few days before the get-together, they panic and don't know what to make. They don't know what they should bring or what people will like. I'm here to help with that! Here are some easy, popular side dishes you can bring to Thanksgiving. Even if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving these side dishes are great to bring to any occasion! Under each side, I will attach what I believe is a good recipe for each of the dishes.

Creamed Corn

Even though it is less common than some other sides, creamed corn is still a delicious option to bring! It is basically corn combined with a rich, cheesy sauce. Some of the main ingredients in it are corn, cheese (usually parmesan), heavy cream, and a variety of spices. It is super easy to whip up in a hurry and very easy to make.

Green Bean Casserole

Green bean casserole has been and continues to be a very popular side at Thanksgiving. The balance of creaminess and crunchiness is just right in this delicious dish! Most recipes include green beans, some variety of creamy soup (mostly commonly cream of mushroom soup), and a crispy element to top off the casserole.

Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce most times is either hit or miss: some people love it, and some people don't. Cranberry sauce is super simple; you basically just heat everything in a pot for a while until it becomes thick and jam-like. It's a nice addition to the meal spread and adds a nice balance to the savory, salty dinner.

Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are always a hit. They are also very versatile, meaning you can make them in a variety of ways and with any ingredients or seasonings you would like. I usually make my mashed potatoes with a little bit of cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. This recipe does take a little longer to prep but the end results are worth it!

Roasted Vegetables

Roasted vegetables are a really simple dish you can take to any gathering. You could really do anything when it comes to roasted vegetables. You can mix different types of vegetables and add different seasonings. The cooking process mainly just involves chopping the vegetables, coating them in a little oil and some seasoning, and then roasting them in the oven until crispy.

Mac and Cheese

Mac and cheese isn't a common dish typically associated with Thanksgiving but this delicious food is good for every occasion, right? Well, maybe you don't agree but I think so! Believe it or not, mac and cheese is super easy to make; it just takes a little bit of prep and cooking time. You could customize your mac and cheese how you would like it to. You could bake it, add different types of cheese, change up the noodle type, or add some sort of meat.
