Keep yourself motivated during your studying journey with fun and creative ways to prepare for your upcoming SAT. Studying for your SAT is tough because sometimes you feel overwhelmed and don't feel like studying. Also, with our hyper-interactive world, we have so many distractions, like watching videos, playing games, or simply scrolling on our phones. That's why it is very important to create ways to study for this important test that will make you actually want to study.
Picture flashcards- Create flashcards with common SAT vocabulary, roots, prefixes, and suffixes by drawing pictures. This will help your mind connect the word with the image, making you remember it faster. Also, the act of you writing down the word and its definition engrains it into your mind better than if you just read it, and adding a picture further reinstates this effect in your mind.

Play SAT Jeopardy/trivia- Jeopardy Labs is a platform that helps students and teachers create their own online Jeopardy games. The site contains games created by previous users, like New SAT Math and SAT Writing. You can play by yourself or with some friendly competition. Since one of the best ways to learn new information is to create materials yourself, consider creating your own Jeopardy games on this site based on practice test questions that you’ve found challenging. Also, trivia goes hand in hand with Jeopardy, so check out this fun site for SAT trivia you can play in teams against your friends or build your own set!

Listen to SAT prep Songs- If you enjoy listening to music a lot, check out popular SAT prep songs to help you study. These songs are usually very catchy and can help you remember things quickly, especially math formulas. Scalar Learning has a lot of SAT prep songs that you can check out, and Math Schlansky has a whole SAT prep playlist!

Play SAT games- Gamifying your SAT studying experience can really help make it fun!
Here are some to check out:
Daily SAT Practice -This is one of the less game-like options out there, but it is an official College Board app. It offers you an official practice SAT question every day, and once you answer the question, you can compare how you did with other students.Â
Quizlet -On this site, you can access thousands of flashcard sets that others have uploaded to the site, including a variety of SAT prep sets. Of course, you’ll want to check out a set before you use it to study to make sure it actually has useful (and correct) information. Magoosh SAT is also fun, especially because it has a Chromebook extension that pops up a new word every time you open a new web browser! This allows you to seamlessly learn new words every day.

Watch educational SAT videos- If you're an auditory learner, this can really help level up your studying game. Give yourself a break from reading by watching educational videos. Review your practice test results and identify a few areas where you need to improve your knowledge, and focus your video search on these topics. Don't be distracted by fun, non-educational videos when searching on YouTube. Instead, stay on task by searching on HippoCampus. This site contains links to an impressive collection of educational videos that cover almost every topic on the SAT.

Thank you for reading this blog post! I hope these studying techniques are helpful in your SAT journey!
