As a teen, it is crucial to explore all kinds of careers that you are intrigued by. More specifically, careers in STEM are extremely popular and very fascinating. If you are like many other teens in this generation, then you probably want to learn more about them.

There are so many unique careers within STEM, and looking at all of them can be quite overwhelming. Let's take a closer look at each section of STEM, and a few of the popular careers found within each one. This can help you figure out what you're interested in and if you want to pursue it in the future.


Science
  • Geologist: This field studies the Earth; mainly its composition, structure, and history. They help develop solutions to save the Earth and make it a safe place for all living things.

  • Chemist: Chemists deal with chemical elements, compounds, and substances. They research and analyze them thoroughly in order to figure out how they act towards the environment.

  • Physicist: Physicists deal with the behavior and properties of matter and energy. They carry out studies and experiments in order to test theories, which can later lead to the development of new technology.

  • Forensic Scientist: These people study, analyze, and investigate evidence from criminal matters. They help find the suspects that could have been responsible for the crime using evidence that they uncovered.

  • Paleontologist: Paleontologists are responsible for studying fossils which can lead to knowing more about history, as well as discovering new species.

  • Environmental Scientist: Environmental Scientists study the environment in order to protect nature and human health.

  • Meteorologist: Meteorologists study Earth's weather and atmosphere, and make predictions based on it.


Technology
  • Computer Scientist: Computer Scientists study computational systems, and also design software or hardware that can solve problems in industries.

  • Software Developer: Software Developers create and test software to meet customer's needs. An example of this would be developing Software updates for certain apps.

  • AI Engineer: AI engineers program and train AI systems, as well as learn complex algorithms. They are responsible for creating systems using a variety of technologies.

  • Cybersecurity Analyst: Cybersecurity Analysts help protect computer systems and data that can be threatened. They make sure that all the information is secure, and will not have a potential attack.

  • Video Game Developer: Video game developers are responsible for creating video games, by taking ideas and turning them into enjoyable games for the consumer.

  • Robotics Engineer: Robotic engineers are responsible for designing and building robot systems that can perform a specific task, while also working precisely and safely.


Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering: Aerospace engineers design, develop, and produce airplanes and spacecraft. They use a high level of physics and mathematics to produce the best type of flying machine possible.

  • Civil Engineering: Civil engineers design and construct infrastructure projects. They maintain the physical environment and take care of all kinds of structures and systems.

  • Electrical Engineering: Electrical engineers help with the manufacturing of electrical systems and equipment. They work on things like electronics, control systems, communication systems, and navigation systems.

  • Mechanical Engineering: Mechanical engineers help manufacture mechanical engines, machines, systems, and turbines.

  • Biomedical Engineering: Biomedical engineers combine medicine and technology in order to improve the health of human beings, as well as to solve healthcare issues.

  • Automotive Engineering: Automotive engineers design and manufacture automobiles, such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, and buses.


Math
  • Mathematician: Mathematicians are specialized in the subject of mathematics. They use data and formulas in order to solve difficult problems, and also develop new principles in the field of math. They work closely with engineers and scientists.

  • Actuary: Actuaries use math and statistics to calculate financial risks. They analyze past events and data in order to come up with the most accurate decision possible.

  • Statistician: Statisticians are specialized in statistics, and collect data in order to analyze and interpret it. They do things such as polls, surveys, and experiments and then assess or present results.

  • Financial Analyst: Financial analysts are responsible for helping companies, organizations, businesses, and even just individual people with advice on how to spend and use their money, or just financial decisions in general.
