The Naked Egg

You will need the following supplies:

  • Egg(s)

  • Vinegar

  • Food Coloring (optional)

  • Container large enough to put the egg in without difficulty

Immerse each egg in a cup of vinegar. I have only done one egg, but the more you make the more you can experiment with. Your egg will probably float at the top and hover above the surface of the vinegar, that is okay.

Place the container(s) in the refrigerator. Check after 24 hours to see if the egg shell has completely dissolved. If it has not, drain the vinegar and add fresh vinegar to each cup. You can also add up to 10 drops of food coloring to the vinegar if you want a brilliantly colored egg.

Once your eggs are nice and naked trying putting them in different liquids. What would happen to your egg if you put it sprite, what if you put it in salt water?
