What is the main plot?

It's an animated fantasy movie on Netflix.

  • The story is based on a girl band called Huntrix, with members Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who are also demon hunters. They use their singing to keep the demons from preying on innocent civilians' souls.

  • The main antagonist is a boy band named the Saja Boys, comprised of demons who try to steal Huntrix's fans' souls for the king demon's (AKA Gwima's) benefit.

It's a story of self-realization, embracing your identity, love, and friendship.

  • Soundtrack/Music:

People are obsessed with the songs in this movie. The songs are very catchy and fun to listen to. Also, they do a good job merging real K-pop music into the fantasy movie world.

  • Themes and Heart:

The themes are very meaningful throughout this story, such as self-acceptance and friendship. They are a big plus, since you actually learn things from the movie by applying its theme.

  • Cultural Touches:

Many people liked that the movie blended lots of Korean cultural aspects into the story instead of completely disregarding the Korean culture of K-pop. Many of the mythology and aesthetics were Korean-based, and the songs even had Korean language verses in them!

  • Popularity:

It's currently Netflix's most-watched animated original, so it clearly resonates with a lot of people.

Weaknesses

  • Story and Character depth:

A lot of this movie was very fast-paced, so you don't get to see the character depth of some of the characters like Mira and Zoey, which would have been nice. Also, the story felt a bit rushed in some areas.

ree
  • Predictability:

This film uses a lot of common themes and storylines. Some viewers said that this movie was too predictable, which reduced its impact.

ree
  • Fear/Violence:

Although this movie is PG and family-friendly, there are some creepy/scary moments, like the monster-demon scene, soul-sucking, and the fighting scenes.
