The F1 movie is a newly released action thriller starring Brad Pitt and Damon Idris. The movie has many great moments that could land it a spot as one of the greatest movies of this decade, but what makes this movie so great? Well, to start things off, the story is extremely compelling, featuring breathtaking visuals, a beautiful soundtrack, and thrilling scenes. All of these aspects blend together to make a stunning film. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this review of the F1 Movie.
The summary of this movie: The movie starts off with the main character, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), driving in the 24 Hours at Daytona. Sonny Hayes is a Formula 1 driver who "never was". He had a bad crash and disappeared from motorsport racing for years. After winning the 24 hours at Daytona, he is revealed to be living out of his van and traveling across the country finding different places to race in. He is stopped by one of his old friends, who is now rich and owns a F1 team, his friend reveals that the F1 team that he owns is failing and is about to go under. Sonny Hayes then agrees to drive for his friend's team for one season to bring them back from failure. This is when the rising action starts and Sonny Hayes makes a return to F1 and races alongside a new rookie, Joshua Pearce (Damon Idris). They battle it out through the season and Joshua Pearce's season is almost ended due to an almost fatal crash. He returns and the two drivers finish out the season with Sonny Hayes winning the final race, and bringing his friend's team out of failure.
The Positives of this movie: As mentioned in the intro, there are many great and intense moments throughout the movie. Some of these scenes include Sonny's first drive in a modern F1 car, where he wrecks on his first lap and Joshua Pearce's intense crash were he gets hospitalized and is out for 3 races. The camera angles are insane, they make you feel like you are flying down circuits at breakneck speeds. The soundtrack is also very good. It was made by Hans Zimmer and it gives the movie a whole new feel because the soundtrack reflects what scene is occurring in the movie. The character development is also exceptional as both of the characters mature and get better throughout the movie.
The Negatives of this movie: The movie may be a bit confusing to follow due to the fast paced nature and the intense scenes. If you're not a Formula 1 fan and don't follow the races or drivers, some scenes might be hard to track as they involve real drivers and real races.
Final thoughts: Overall, I would highly recommend giving this movie a watch. For Formula 1 fans and people who don't like Formula 1 at all, this movie connects us all. So get your popcorn and give this movie a watch!
