DIY Flower Hair Clips

So I know the saying is “April showers bring May flowers” but I think it’d be more fun to have some beautiful flowers that will last all year long and are able to go with you wherever. So how about some DIY flower hair clips to make the rainy days feel like summer all year long!

Materials

  • Fake flowers (mine are from dollar tree)

  • Hair clips

  • Wire cutter

  • Strong glue (I’m using clear E600)

Instructions

  1. After picking out what flower you want to use for your hair clip, either pluck the flowers off of the stem, or if they are being finicky, use your wire cutters to cut them off

  2. If you have a little plastic nub at the bottom of your flowers cut them off too

  3. Play with your arrangement of the flowers on the hair clip to see what you like best before getting the glue out and glueing them down

  4. Once you are ready for glue, apply directly to the hair clip rather than the flower, if you are using a very smooth and shiny plastic hair clip then i’d recommend sanding the surface to give it some more grip.

  5. Press on your flowers one at a time and add some sort of weight on top of them to make sure they stay down

  6. Wait for one side of the clip to dry a little bit before moving to the other, I waited maybe 5-10 minutes so the glue got tacky.

  7. Then repeat the same process on the other side! Make sure to put a heavy weight on your project after and leave for at least 24hrs before touching it or attempting to put it in your hair.

  8. Enjoy your new hair clip!
