AI in Everyday Life

Creating AI involves programming computer systems and machines to think and act like humans. Many people are unaware that AI is always around us, and is used in several common things that we do in our daily lives.

AI can be used a lot in technology, especially in our personal devices. Siri and Alexa are examples of AI on our phones. These systems will first recognize a voice, and then they break down the user's words. It is then able to put the user's words into a language that it understands so that it can follow through with the user's command. This can mean making a call, sending a text, playing music, etc. Another example of this is when you use apps such as Netflix or Spotify, AI customizes your recommendations. It uses the feedback given by the user, such as likes and dislikes, to recommend accurate movies, shows, or songs that the user will like.

AI can also be used for navigation or transportation. For example, GPS uses AI to map out the route to go to a certain place, how long it will take to get there, and if there will be any traffic problems on the route chosen. It does this by using map data as well as real-time traffic data. It gathers this information along with the user's input and uses algorithms, predictions, and adjustments in order to adjust the route. Self driving cars are another example of this. AI can help increase safety in vehicles that are self driving. One way it can do this is by controlling the vehicle's acceleration, braking, or steering, as well as adhering to traffic laws. It can learn to comply with things such as speed limits, traffic signals, stop signs, etc.

AI is also used in Healthcare. Radiologists, with the help of AI, can analyze X rays, CT scans, MRIs, and more much more easily. It can analyze potential diseases or health issues so that the doctor can prevent them from occurring. It can also help the patient, not just the healthcare providers, by guiding users on where to find medical health, or just informing them about health in general. It can also help create treatment plans and manage medication schedules.

AI is also used in cameras and image/video analysis. One example of this is in object recognition and detection. AI can analyze images and videos in order to identify objects. It can also detect motion if a person or animal creates some sort of movement near the camera. Another example is when you unlock your phone, AI can recognize your face and unlock it. It can verify multiple different individuals based on facial recognition.

As you can see, AI is used in a variety of ways in our daily lives. It can be used in things such as technology, all the way to things such as healthcare. AI is constantly changing and evolving, and in the future it will become increasingly prominent in our daily lives.
